Hello from Rosemary,
My Great, Great, Grandparents were Frederick Wilhelm Tanneberger I (born in the Kingdom of Saxony) & Wilhelmina "Freitag" (born, somewhere in possibly Saxony-Prussia, since at least one United States Federal Census takers has "Prussia", written down as her Country/or place of Birth, and others just say "Germany", and the same goes for my Great, Grandfather, Frederich Wilhelm II). Wilhelm II, went by an Americanized version of his name, "William Frederick Tanneberger", in most of his later records, such as his Death record, Naturalization records, and Citizenship records, plus a San Antonio, Texas Newspaper cliping, when he recieved his Citizenship, and all these records state "Neunberg", Germany as his place of Birth. However, in my Great Grandparents' Family Record pages,of their family Bible, it clearly shows his real Birth name, as being "Frederich Wilhelm Tanneberger", written beside Julia Carolina Bowden Tanneberger, as the father of his children/family.
In the death records of two of his sisters, they are shown to have be born in Bromberg, Germany (Now in North Central Poland, under a Polish name. My Great Great Grandfather, Wilhelm I, was said to have been a professional Soldier, and traveled with his family, when he was stationed in these particular places, where some of his children were born.
Best Regards,
Rosemary Tanneberger Stebbins
