YOUTH'S BODY IS RECOVERED
Grappling Hooks Bring Up Victim of Swollen Creek Near Olen tangy River.

The body of Glenn Roy Spidell, 8, of 35 Blenheim road, drowned in the swollen waters of a creek which runs along Overbrook drive just south of the Indian Springs Golf Course, was recovered Tuesday night in a pool near where the creek enters the Olentangy River.

Patrolman N. T. McCormick using a grappling hook from a boat discovered the body of the boy about 6:30 p. m. following a 24 hour search.

Police had dragged over the spot previously, but their hooks failed to catch the boy's clothing. He had been wearing a rubber raincoat.

When last seen late Monday afternoon, the boy was playing along the banks of the creek. His rain hat and a rope he had been playing with were found Tuesday morning.

The boy was a pupil in Grade 3-A at Glenmont School. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Severn Spidell and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Curran of Prospect [Marion County], and Mrs. Catherine Spidell, of COLUMBUS.

Funeral arrangements will be in charge of Wylie S. Shroyer.
