Andreas Wilhelm Spies died at his farm on Green Tree Road, (Davenport) February 11, 1908 aged 58 yrs 2 months, and 12 days. Funeral services were held at the home February 14. Burial was in Fairmount cemetery, Davenport. Mr. Spies is survived by his wife and ten children: John, Henry, Adolph, William, George, Andrew, Mrs. Mary Heuer, Mrs. Lizzie Jessen, Mrs. Wilhelmina Strauss, and Miss Clara at home; three brothers in Australia; Johann Spies, Karsten Jurgen Adolph, and Heinrich Ludolph; and one sister in Germany. Three children preceded him in death, Adolph I, Wilhelm, and Albert.
