In need of Connections for Spinelli in Bari, Italy

I am looking for connections in my mother's family. Her maiden name is Spinelli. Her father John Carl Spinelli (b. 1935) is 1st Generation American - fathered by Rocco Spinelli and Julia Buchert(?). According to the story my mother told me, Rocco's father (from Bari, Italy) and Julia's mother (northern Italy) were both previously married and met each other in the United States after leaving Italy. Julia had been in a convent until her mother send back to her and she traveled from Italy, possibly with siblings. Rocco and Julia met and eventually married each other... complicated I know. Rocco and Julia had two other children besides my grandfather (Vincent and Jeanette). They settled in Auburn, Cayuga County, New York. My mother believes that Rocco's father was either a Joseph or Frank.

If anyone could provide me with more information that would be so helpful!

Corie,
Tobia and Raffaela were my paternal grandparents. My grandmother was indeed a Cafaro. What is your connection? I would enjoy sharing information on the family. Let me know what you have or what you need.
Are you a long lost cousin or something? I look forward to hearing from you.

looking for more information on my great grandparents

I am looking for more information on John Giovanni Spinella, born April 10,1896 in Santa Theresa di Riva, Sicily. He married Carmella Gianetti, who wa born October 27, 1900 in Italy. Carmella Gianetti came to New York in 1903. I'm not 100% sure when John came to NY, but apparently he was around sixteen.
John Spinella's father was Carmello Spinella, who was born in 1865 in Ste. Teresa di Riva, in Sicily, and died there in 1955. Carmella Gianette's father was Frank Carmello Gianette, born in 1873 in Italy and died 1961. He and his wife, Annette Carnibucci, immigrated in 1903 to New York.
The Spinella last name may or may not have been spelled Spinelli at the time. I'm not too sure.
I was wondering if anyone had any connections to these people in New York.

They emigrated about 1913-14 to NY. Raffaela's maiden name could be Cafaro (the writing on the ship manifest is hard to make out!) Let me know if you have any connections.

I saw your post about Sammichele. My grandfather who emigrated in 1907 was from there and when he arrived in the US, lived for a while in West Virginia. I believe he worked in the mines. I know other families from Sammichele and other towns from Bari, also worked in the coal mines in WV. There are also Spinelli families in NY where my grandfather eventually live. Do you think there is a connection?
