According to our research, the origin of the name Spraggins is English and the Coat of Arms contains Black with a cross between four gold leopards faces. The Crest is A wolf's head.

Spelling variations include: Spracklin, Spracklyn, Spracklyng, Sprackling and others.First found in in Kent where they were seated from ancient times, some say before the Norman Conquest in 1066.

Some of the first settlers of this name or some of its variants were: Charlotte Spracklin who gave her name to Charlottetown in Bona Vista Bay, Newfoundland, whose family settled at Brigus, Newfoundland, about 1702; there is a Sprackling Island in Labrador; Robert Spraklin settled in Virginia in 1649; Christian Sprackling settled in Virginia in 1654, along and others.
