I am looking for anyone with information about him or his brother's and sisters. My GG grandfather Richard Sprague was his brother. I believe he died close to Joe and his family in TX, from what my G Aunt thinks. Thank you for any help.

Looking for any information on Jesse Belle Brown and Sevious Truman Sprague. Jesse Belle was born about 1871 in Kansas or Iowa. Sevious Truman Sprague was born in 1848. Sevious first married Mary Francies Oliver in Carbondale Kansas, then married Jesse Belle. He died in 1911 in Chandler OK, buried at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Lincoln Co. Jesse Belle and Sevious had 3 children, Truman, Orville and Ethel Florence. Jesse Belle possibly died or remarried sometime shortly after 1911. Any information would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Dennis Sprague, 51, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999.

Services will be in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors,
Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with the Rev. Robert Field
officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery.

Mr. Sprague moved to Amarillo 24 years ago from Muscatine, Iowa. He
was a welder in construction.

Pauline Elizabeth Burdick, 74, of Rutledge passed away November 19, 2005 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis.

She was born the daughter of Arthur Steven and Ella (Lewis) Sprague on May 22, 1931 in Muscatine, Iowa.

Pauline attended the Garfield School in Muscatine. She led a very interesting life as a professional wrestler. Pauline performed in several circuits across the country and internationally under many names, including Donna Dillinger and the Blonde Bomber.

She also worked as a cook in Muscatine and other areas. Pauline enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Kirksville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis Sprague; brother, Jim Sprague; and a half-brother, Ray Ervin.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Burdick of Rutledge; sons, Stanley Burdick of Rutledge and Darrell Lee of Ft. Smith, AR; daughters Pam Smith and Mary Ann Riddle of Muscatine; a brother, Ronald Eugene Sprague of Muscatine; half-brother Jack Erwin of Muscatine; two special grandsons J. J. Sprague of Seoul, South Korea, and David Lee of Jackson, MS; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Friends wishing to sign the register can visit the Gerth Funeral Home in Memphis.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gerth Funeral Service from their Memphis chapel.

Sprague/Spriggs Keziah and George

Am questioning whether Keziah Wise b. 01 Feb 1835 in Monroe Co., Ohio and George Wise b. 02 Jan 1837 in Monroe Co., Ohio, are the children of Dr. Jesse Stoneman Sprague/Spriggs and Susan Wise Sprague/Spriggs.

In Dr. Jesse's journal, he had a loose sheet of paper with the births of his children on it. The list DID NOT include Keziah or George. Besides himself and his wife, he listed: Sarah, Ruth, Desdamona, Elias, Lewis, William, and Rheasylvia.

However, on the 1850 census for Harrison, Bartholomew Co. Indiana. But just because they were in the household doesn't mean they are the children of Dr. Jesse.

On another loose sheet in the journal, Dr. Jesse listed "Deaths" and he listed the death of his mother-in-law Elizabeth Wise on 13 Apr 1841. He listed the death of George Wise as 26 May 1852, at 15 years, 3 months and 25 days.

Dr. Jesse did not write Sprague or Spriggs as George's last name. If George were his son, wouldn't he write George Wise Sprague?

Any thoughts from other researchers?

He married a Missiana Wallace and a Polexanna Winstead. I'm related through the latter.

Wife: Hannah Getchell died 16 oct 1788 Machias Maine

James Sprague drowned 12 Feb 1799 - was his body recovered and buried? Schoodic River, New Brunswick CA.

James Sprague (jr) died after 1850 census Location - Machiasport??
wife: Priscilla died after 1860 census Location - Machiasport??

Has anyone done a comprehensive research into the family of John Sprague and his wife Elizabeth Titus?

Most researchers give John's date/place of birth as 6 June 1743 in Cumberland, Providence Co. RI, and Elizabeth's date/place of birth as 11 Jily 1744 in Douglas, Worcester Co. MA, with their marriage occuring 19 November 1764 in Uxbridge, Worcester Co. MA. Also, the date/place of John's death is typically given as August 1820 in Richmond, Ontario Co. NY, while no date/place is apparently known for Elizabeth's death.

Rsearchers generally aggree that John was the son of Stephen Sprague and Mary Harris, both natives of Rhode Island.

Most research has identified five children born to John and Elizabeth: sons Jonathan, Michael and Thomas, and daughters Amey and Elizabeth.

Questions: is the above John Sprague the same individual found in the 1800 and 1810 census of Onatrio Co. NY, and did he have only the five children most often listed by researchers (and named above)?

I have a Mercy Sprague, born 1784/5 in Rhode Island with Ontario Co. NY connections, but cannot determine her parentage. Circumstancial evidence suggests she may have been a daughter of John Sprague and Elizabeth Titus.

Any information, thoughts, etc. would be appreciated.

I am a 77 yr old cattle rancher from Utah and not well versed in this work, so any help would be appreciated.

They were my 6th great-grandparents by way of their son Vandosto, his son John Mortimer, his daughter, Nora Belle (Root) Roxbury/Cool, her Daughter Beulah Mae (Roxbury) Olsen, her daughter Norma Elaine (Olsen) Ball, her daughter my living grandmother. Sorry it took me so long to respond to your inquiry, tax time. Have you checked the Sprague database? It is www.sprague-database.org It is a very comprehensive website. I checked my program for cemetaries in Maine and I have a listing for one in Vermont with Some Sprague names, but nothing in Maine. I do have notations for some that were buried in Appleton, Maine. I checked the Sprague websit and they have a listing for a few buried in Wahington county in the Wesley? cemetary.

Mabel had two brothers Milton and Alvin. Alvin died in 1925 in West Virginia, but was burried in Jefferson Co. New York with his mother Anna Hurlbut and father Sheridan Sprague.
Milton Sprague had three children Sheridan Eugene, Mildred Sprague-Walker, and Spurling Sprague. If any one has information on these family members or their decendents I would love to hear from you. I can be contacted at the above e-mail.

Looking for the parents of Amaziah Sprague. Based on Census data he was born around 1828 in New York. I have been unable to locate him in the 1850 census. He was in Iowa by 1855 when he had his first child and then moved on to Minnesota where he shows up in the 1860 census.

Also looking for information on his wife Phebe (Phoebe). Not sure of wedding date or place. Believe maiden name of Phoebe to be Pierce.

We've already connected about our Sprague family this past year. I was sorry to see no one responded with additional information. I just learned that the adoption story came from Joseph's grandson, Eugene W. Sprague. He told my mother (his niece), that he was very proud of the Sprague name -- but that his grandfather told him that he (Joseph) was adopted. He didn't tell Mom any more. I would love to find more information about Seth Sprague, Joseph's father, if anyone knows anything -- and also, Joseph's mother's family -- Margaret Clark Sprague.

Hi I have some Sprague in my family I dont have her info with me today but I remember that Julia Sprague she was born in 1838 - abt 1930 she married a Charles Cramner she had relatives named Howard B Sprague
