Message: Looking for information on the SPRINGFIELD line from England... My G-grandfather William Harry SPRINGFIELD, was born 1/14/1856 in Ramsgate, Co. of Kent, England; His parents were William SPRINGFIELD and Mary Hoyer. Other known siblings of William H. Springfield were John, Emma and Agnes who also came to America later with mother Mary Hoyer SPRINGFIELD who settled in Conn. I believe Emma died in Conn. and Mother Mary Hoyer SPRINGFIELD and her daughter Agnes moved to VA lived with Mary's son John (William H. Agnes Springfield's brother) . I believe Agnes SPRINGFIELD married Ben Barker in VA.

Now backing up bit:
William H. Springfield ran away from home in England, stowed away on ship and came to America at age 15; He married Alice E. Roswell 3/29/1875 possible in New Haven, Connecticut; Thier children's names were, John Alfred 1878-1955, William, Harry, Abbie, Emma possibly another daughter...

William H. Springfield also married a second wife named Francis (Frankie) Kershaw born 3/17/1878 in Brooklyn . Thier children's names were, Frank (born 1903 in OK); Theodor and Andrew (Andy)...

William H. Springfield mentioned above was charge with bigamy and sent to prison and the children from the first marriage were split up to live with relatives, I believe he remained with 2nd wife after he got out of prison. It was said while in prison he became an attorney...

This is the biggest info I have and sadly about all that I have... So I could use any help anyone could give me to any info or a family tree... I understand the son named Theodor (Ted) from the 2nd marriage had a daughter named Nancy (married name unknown) had a family tree but this was back in 1975 and I do not know any of thier childrens names to locate them.. I do know that Ted's daughter Nancy I believed lived in CA. but I do not know if she is still alive... she had children but I do not know thier names...

My mother (89 yrs. old) who is a SPRINGFIELD and most of her siblings are still alive but they remember very little as thier memories are very fussy now.. I got most of my information from old letters written by Andrew (Andy) SPRINGFIELD to my aunt... He died and I do not know where or how to locate any these peoples kids... I know a lot of them moved to CA...

So any help from any one would be greatly appreciated and prayerfully a SPRINGFIELD relative will see and respone to this post...
