I'm a real novice at this geneology stuff, but I'm looking for some information regarding my heritage. My great grandfather was Samuel Sperlin, who was born in Clay County, Illinois. He served in the 9th Iowa Cavalry during the Civil War. He had at least one son, who was my grandfather (I don't remember his name). He married Eva B. Clark and they had 12 children. The second oldest was my father who was born in 1907. I don't know if my grandfather had any brothers or sisters, but I'm trying to piece together some sort of family history. Can you help me?
