David, I am a descendant of Pierre Botquin dit St. Andre, born in St. Pierre, Suman (or Sumar) Anjou, France. He came to Canada as a member of the French Army. He was a soldier, a master carpenter, boat builder and trader. When three brothers came to Louisiana they had dropped the Botquin name and used St. Andre. There was a Joseph St. Andre in mty family tree (in fact there are about four or five). I have a good tree until the brothers moved to LA, then I lost the ones that came to Fort Detroit, New York, and other states. Be glad to correspond if you would email me at: By the way the name has been changed by some to St. Andria, St. Andrie and St. Andry.
