My dad's mother was from Belize and her last name was Staines. All i know is that my dad used to tell me that his family was from England...have you gotteen more info on your relative?

I am looking for any information re Lydia A Staines/Stains who d in Baltimore in 1859. Her address on Caroline St was also the address for James Bond and his wife Mary. I am looking for a possible connection between Lydia, these Bonds and my 3rd ggrandmother, Mary Ann Staines (1815-1897) who m Aquilla Samuel/Thomas H Bond (1808-1847)- Or possibly a connection to Samuel Staines (1808-1881) who m Ellen Frances. I believe Samuel is Mary Ann's brother. Anything ring a bell with anyone?

I'm trying to find where the person I knew as uncle Gordon fits in my family. I thought he was my dads' brother but discovered he was born in 1921, three years after my granddad died. His mother’s maiden name was Colbourne if we are on the right track. He was married to Ivy, daughter Sylvia. They lived in Middlesex.
Any help out there? It is driving me mad!!!!!!!!!!!!

All i know is that my great grandfather was a log cutter and i think worked in the military in England. He later moved to belize i guess to pick up logs and from there he had some kids and later on it im the newest blood line i would say. Does anyone know anything about this? I am trying to find information on Emma Staines. Some sources list her as being born in Ireland at some unknown date. Others say that she was born in 1810 in England. She married Robert John Staines in 1846 and shortly after moved to Victoria, British Columbia. Mr Staines died in 1854 and his widow moved back to England. This is where my information ceases. I would love to know if Emma remarried or when she died. Can anyone help me out?

Iam looking for a David Staines who was born 1869
London England according to the Califonia 1920
Census Living in San Gabriel Calif. Only immigation
records I can find is thru Canada to New York in 1910.
In the Census it is said he has a brother W Staines.
Cannot find any other immigration information. Could
this be the same David Staines? The family has know
informaton about him except that he came here and he also
had brothers here. He died in 1932 in Los Angles Calif.
he was a farmer.

I think your David Staines is a brother of my grandfather, John Staines. John, David and another brother, William, all arrived in Canada from England in the 1880s. John and William remained in Montreal for the rest of their lives but David disappeared ca 1900 and the family never heard from him again.

Hi, I dont know his fathers name.The first william staines i can find that i know for sure is right, 1861 census living in salford manchester. he is a labour. he is dead by 1866 ,mary remarried in 1868 samuel chapman that is how i got her maiden name. Thanks Cathy

I am trying to find information about william staines the 1861 census finds him in Manchester england, though he was born in Essex 1819.In 1859 he had a daughter in Walmer,Estry,Kent. His wifes name was Mary Okeffe born cork 1836 I carn'tany traces of where they were married or where they were living before 1861.

If they had a child in Walmer, Eastry, Kent. I will try and find out if they got married there.

Thanks for that, I checked mary chapman marriage certificate her madien name was okeeffe, her second husband was also from down south, suffork. there was also a big age gap.
But none of that helps with william my great, great granfarther.

I have discovered that my grandmother was a Staines for a period of time. She was born Lily Curtis and at some time married someone called Staines who I understand was a sailor (merchant?) and drowned. They were then in the Weymouth area. This only came out by accident when we found she was a widow called Staines when she married my granddad who was her first husbands best friend. This was in the earlier 1900s

lynette my grandfather was william stains ,he had severel daughters ,and one son herbert ,they lived in rayleigh essex ,he was married and had two daughters,we live in australia ,so cant find out infomation freeley,i am trying to find infomation on my grandparents ,i do know they lived in hockley in 1927 through my parents marriage cert ,cant seem to get any futher !!i hope this helps regards bezz sutherland PS not sure if he had any sons ,will contact rellies in UK

on the 1851 census there are 6 William's born Essex - all married - bearing in mind his age its very possible that one of these are him but, you will need his marriage cert to confirm

Regretfully, by 1871 Mary (the wife) had remarried to a Chapman so no further clues on William there

Hi, looking for info on my g. grandfather WILLIAM STAINES b. 1861 London. Around 1888/9 he was living with EMMA ROBERTS (nee HARVEY) in Bethnal Green, London. Emma's husband had left her and their 3 children - the youngest was born in Jan 1888.

She began living with WILLIAM STAINES - they never married - and they had 3 children between them. The children were Alice b. 1889/90, William (my grandfather) b. abt. 1895 and Jenny b. 1896.

After Jenny's birth William Staines deserted Emma, leaving her with 6 children (3 from her husband and 2 from William Staines). Emma fell on hard times and eventually put the children into the Barnardo's orphanage. Two of the girls were sent to Canada.

Can anybody help me with my research on William STAINES please?
