I am researching the surname Stakes. I have hit brick wall after brick wall. I know there are variations of the surname Stakes and that in some cases the name has undergone a change by one letter. Sometimes it is Stake, Stakes, Stoke and Stokes.

I know many of the Stakes ancestors came from VA. Some migrated through out the U.S. to Indiana, Iowa, Illinoise, Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky and many other places.
