Does anyone have any information on a W.P. Stakes that was a Justice of the peace in the mid 1800's?

His name appears on my great grand parents marriage license in 1878 St.Landry Parish.

Just courious if there is a connection between this man and my Great grandfather who was also a "Stakes".
