Geocities will be closing down later this year (2009). There are many genealogy sites on Geocities, and sadly, many of these sites may be lost if the owners don't move the sites to a new location. Yahoo is not notifying anyone about this by e-mail and many webmasters have not updated their sites in years, so--more likely than not—they are not even aware the pages they have posted will be lost.  You or someone you know may have genealogy information posted on a Geocities site. USGenWeb and Rootsweb also have links to Geocities sites. Please help spread the word so genealogy websites won't be lost.
