I have fairly extensive information in a book entitled "The Stanalands of the U. S." which may be helpful to those searching for ancestors/relatives, especially in Brunswick County, NC.
My line descended from Hugh (Stanaland), Patrick (Stanaland) , Samuel A. (Stanaland), Samuel A. (Stanaland), James H. (Stanaland), Thomas B. (Stanaland/Stanley) , James H. (Stanley) and James B. (Stanley).
