I have found olivia ann morcom stanaway born circa 1862 her Father was Hugh stanaway & Mother Elizabeth, I have Hugh Stanaway in my Family Tree his father was James Stanaway who married Frances Morcom they were from Ladock in cornwall

Hi Enid, good to hear from you,John & Jane had 7 children, I used to live in Whitehaven,but now live in Southport,have you got the 1910 census where john& jane where living in Newport Virginia?I have seen the landing details in NEW YORK
when John& JANE & her Father emigrated to usa,you seem to have more details than me, I have been so busy with all the Stanaway's ancestors. John was the brother to my Great/Grandfather William Henry,John had 9 brothers and 5 sisters,John's Father kept a pub in Whitehaven,he came from Cornwall his name was George he was married twice,George then moved from Whitehaven to Bolton where he kept a grocers shop,I have got the photo of the Family headstone, where some of John's siblings are buried. no more room!!!

John Stanaway was the brother of my Great grandfather William Henry Stanaway. I have more details of the Stanaways if you need them contact me. I live in Whitehaven, Cumbria(Cumberland) where John and Jane left to go to Virginia.

John Stanaway was my great Grandfathers brother. He married Jane Bethwaite of Sandwith Cumberland and emegrated to Newport News, Virginia USA. I have more information if you need it.

john stanaway was my great grandfather,the child ,george was my grandfather.jane bethwaite was my great grandmother they did come to the usa.george stanaway married margaret armstrong and lived in newport news va.they had 4 childen 3girls and i son ,my dad george victor stanaway,he married betty jane rice.they had 3 sons,george victor stanaway II,norval rice and james nathan,i"m norval.

Hello Carrie ! My husband's mother was Inez LaRue Stanaway. She was born in Greenland, MI (upper penninsula). I have a lot of information on the Stanaway family which was given to me by someone who was an excellent researcher. I know the research goes a long way back. My gt. gt. grandmother was also Maria Menhennet who married John Stanaway in Brazil. They had 3 children Emily, George and Mary. George married Jessie Cock and they had: Reginald, Frederick, John, Norman and Irene (my grandmother). George's sister Mary, married William Lander and their daughter Marjorie, married Charles Wardle. I am at a standstill with the Stanaways. Any help gratefully received.

Looking for any information on John Stanaway he married Jane Bethwaite 1890 at Whitehaven.
On the 1891 Census they are living at Sandwith near Whitehaven with Jane's father John Bethwaite and their son George.
I can't find any of them on the 1901 Census so they may have left England altogether.

I am researching Henry Stanaway who was born in Stafford-Shire England in 1855. He had several children by the names of Harry, Rosa, Richard, Maude, Agnes and James. He died in 1909 and was buried in Anamosa, IA along with his wife Mary Jane Babb who died in 1931.
