We didn't know many of granny's sisters/brothers, but she married Steve Standridge and had six children in Douglas County. I wonder if we are related?

Can you please tell us your source for the information that Thomas Standridge married Ellenor and had Thomas, James, and Alexander?

We had a family member who lived near Washington, DC do research there trying to find information. What she found was church records in Maryland, which stated that Thomas Standridge married Mary Graves and they had several daughters who were baptized into the church. No sons were listed in these records.

If I remember correctly, she found passenger lists for two seperate Thomas Standridges who arrived about four years apart.

C. Thomas Standridge, born 1700 in Middlesex, England imigrated to the US about 1720 and settled in Maryland.

Thomas and wife (unknown at this point) had a child names James Standridge 1730-1776. James and his wife Ellenor had three boys, Thomas, James, and Alexander Standridge.

Hi
I have just begun researching my Standridge ancestor's and have been able to go as far back as 1670 in Middlesex, England to John and Mary Standridge (1670). They had a son names Thomas Standridge born 1700 that imigrated to US 1720. Thomas and wife(unknown at this time) had a son James Standridge. James Standridge 1730-1776 married Ellenor and they had three boys Thomas, James and Alexander. I would very much like to have copies or whatever it takes to acquire additional information about my ancestors. This stuff is truly addictive.

Hello, Here is a bit of interesting information for Standridge's and all other descendants of Martha Pinetree and Henry Cagle. Some fammily stories passed down through the years state that Martha was full blood Cherokee.
Well, after having a DNA test my MtDNA (through my mothers line) proves that Martha was not full blood Chreokee. Her haplotype is *J*. This is not a native American haplotype.
I would love to hear from other Standridge and Cagle descendants that have had a DNA test.
Best Regards, Steve Ingle
englewolf@netscape.com

I am a decendant of David Ferguson, he married Susan Tredway on May 26, 1889. I also came to a dead end on what happened to Spencer & Nancy Jane Standridge after 1870. On David & Susan Ferguson's marriage application at the Dubois Co. Courthouse, David used the Standridge name, in a very short newspaper announcement they used Ferguson, he & his wife both used the Ferguson name during their lives. I'm not real sure if Spencer is David's father, but that's how I list it until I find more facts. I believe that Spencer is the son of Harrison Standridge & Sarah Woods, but have nothing to prove it.

Your Arthur Amos Standridge was the son of John Harrison Standridge, called Chattin. John was born in April 1889. I have no death date for him, but he was buried at Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Rupert in Van Buren County, Arkansas. He married Sarah Elizabeth BRUCE on March 11, 1910 Van Buren County Book 10 page 113. She was born December 17, 1892 and died January 28, 1972 and is buried at Kennerly Cemetery at Roland, Arkansas. John and Elizabeth had six children.

1. Oscar Standridge married 1934 to Flora May on 31 Jul 1954. No further information.

2. Gertie Standridge No information at all.

3. Jerry Monroe Standridge born about 1916 married Christine MAHAN on July 31, 1954 Pulaski Co. Book 189 page 153. She was born in 1924.

4. Woodrow Standridge was born June 4, 1921 died Nov 4, 1953. Do I have this right, or are these the dates for Arthur Amos?

5. Arthur Amos Standridge married Treva Harris on Dec 15, 1942 in Pulaski Co. AR Book 150 page 182. Treva was born 1921.

6. Alma Standridge born 1924 married Leonard R. "Elton" Lee on March 1, 1945 Pulaski Co. Book 162 page 127. Elton was born June 28, 1904 died October 21, 1963 and is buried in Kennerly Cemetery at Roland, Arkansas. He was in Co. D, of the US Army during World War II.

Much of my information on the early STANDRIDGE family can be
found on Betty Renfroe's web page, 3 Sisters. You can also find this on RootsWeb.com family trees. Just enter your Standridge name and then look for a submitter listed as renfroe. Click on your standridge name and it will take you to the information Betty has posted for that person and her web page will be available at the top of this page by her name. You can also copy in book form what she has on the Standridge families. Please tell her you are copying it. You will need a ream (500 sheets) of paper to do this.

You can contact me at linajaneboyd@hotmail.com Would certainly like to have more information on your line of the Standridge family.

John Harrison Standridge's parents were Jeremiah Standridge and Rhoda HARRIS LEWIS REECE STANDRIDGE. Both of them were married more than once. I have a picture of Jerry and Rhoda with three of their daughters. It was taken in 1907.

Sincerely,

C. L.
I would appreciate any information you could give me on Spencer Standridge. I have a copy of his wedding certificate/license to Nancy Jane Ferguson dated November 14, 1867. I believe Spencer and Jane are the parents of my gg grandfather John W. Ferguson and his brother David R. Ferguson/Standridge. I can't reconcile the dates of the boys' births with the marriage of their parents. But I find all four of them living with David and Elizabeth Ferguson in 1870. After that they all just drop off the map until I find John married to my gg grandmother Kizzie Kelly and living in Dubois County, Indiana. If you have any information on Spencer and his children and possibly his parents and where he went after 1870, I would love to see it. Thanks for any help you can give me.
I do not have mother of Alexander b. ca 1776, i show his father as Thomas son of unknown Mother and James b ca 1730 in Maryland. I show James as having 2 other sons, James and Alexander. I do not have proof of any of this. I, too, would like to know Mothers of Alexander and Thomas.

Hello there! I know this is somewhat late and I might not have many answers.

I'm descended from Samuel James and John's brother, Martin Standridge.

This Alexander Standridge born about 1776 and died about 1836...

I don't even know his father's name. It stops there on my tree, although I do have letters from the Congress library (don't ask me exactly what that is, I'm British) in which Benjamin Franklin himself mentions Alexander.
