Lyman G. Stanley
Lyman G. Stanley of No. 346 Tremont street , was born at Wolcott, Vt., on May 5, 1842, and came to Tonawanda in February, 1853, from Vermont. He enlisted as a private in Company E, Thirtieth Ohio Volunteers at Briton, Iowa, on August 15, 1862, and was mustered out of service as a corporal at Davenport, Iowa, on June 16, 1865. He was wounded in the charge at Vicksburg. Mr. Stanley was in the Battle of Arkansas Post and Vicksburg. He was with Sherman on the march to the sea.
