I have been looking for information on my gg-grandmother, Elizabeth Stansbury/Stansberry for a long time now. I found something interesting that I had not seen before. There was an Ephraim Stansbury that married Elizabeth Phipps in 1803 in Baltimore. My Elizabeth was born about 1823 and on her marriage certificate lists her name as Betsy Elizabeth Fips. I'm wondering if she could have used her mother's maiden name as her middle name and something was left off the marriage certificate. I'm going to try to order the certificate from Missouri.

Anyway, I wondered if anyone knew if this line of Stansbury's were in North Carolina or Virginia from Baltimore in the 1820's. And then possibly some of them moved to Missouri????? Does anything like that sound familiar with anyone????
