<title>Re: Staple families England prior to 1700.</title>
      <link>http://boards.ancestry.com/surnames.staple/23.2/mb.ashx</link>
<description>I have the April 2008 copy of the NE Historical and Genealogical Register. In discussing "the Identity of Phillipa, second wife of Nicholas West of Drayton, Somerset, and grandmother of Joan West White of Lacaster Massachusetts" (by Patricia A. Metsch) there are many of the surname Staple revealed. I am trying to determine how/if they connect to Peter Staple who married Elizabeth Beadle (daughter of Mary Magdeline Bailey who it is said the Scarlet Letter was written). The Staple family discussed in the NE Hist &amp;amp; Gen Register is that of John and Phillipa Hawker Staple of Drayton, Somerset.</description>
