Hi,
Wow that was a long time ago.I did find marriage for this couple was 17 Mar 1888. They were divorced before 23 June 1900. No children born of this union. Have no idea where Mr. Stapleford went or anything more about him.Sorry I can't help but interesting story about the pork barrels.

I have just started building my family tree and came across your posting from nearly 10 years ago. My father mentioned that our ancestors landed upon the shore in Nova Scotia. Pork barrels, holding 3 people, were used as their vessel of transportation. I understand the point of initial departure was England. Curious to find out if there is any relation to the Stapleford reference within your query

Mrs. Cora Stapleford, a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, died at the home of her son, Leon Stapleford, in San Francisco a week ago. Only a few months ago she moved from this city to California.

I see that this post is 6 years old...But my grandmother was Bertha Stapleford from Sussex New Brunswick...Wards Creek..Correct spelling is most definatly Stapleford with an F. I have been to the cemetary you mention, it sits on the family land.

Howard, I know this will help me further explore this branch. I am studying the Coles family of Warren Co. Iowa, and Orpha Coles married Joseph Briggs Anderson, and this is their daughter Leah who married Henry Stapleford.

Looking for descendants of Henry Stapleford.

The family was residing in Belmont Twsp., Warren Co., Iowa in the 1900 census. Leah Stapleford was reported as deceased in 1900, but I don't know if that is true.

He may have had a brother named Frank Stapleford.

Perhaps he was born about 1866 and was the son of David and Nancy Stapleford.

Ozias and Catherine Reel Stapleford had a daughter named Pauline. Pauline was the sister to my great great grandmother Hancy Stapleford. Hancy married Alexander Cuthrell.

Ozias was the son of William and Mary Cuthrell Stapleford. William had a brother named Raymond. Raymond moved to Indiana and the to Mo. I have copies of several letters that Raymond wrote to William trying to get the rest of the family to go where he was .

I have that Pauline married David Holton. I do not have who their children were. Could you please help me with this information?

My great great grandmother was Pauline Stapleford who married David Francis Holton. I believe that her parents were (H)ozias Stapleford and Catherine (Reel) Stapleford, but don't know for sure. Do you have any information on this line of Staplefords? (H)ozias' parents may have been William Stapleford and Mary Cuthrell, but I have no proof.

Thanks for your reply! My Pauline Stapleford married David Frances Holton. They had 2 children, both daughters:
1) Eslie Judson Holton, b. Jan. 25, 1885 m. John Washington Huff on Jan. 26, 1906 d. August 11, 1979. Eslie was my great grandmother. Her middle name came from a family friend - I don't know who. Eslie and John had 9 children: Mildred, Myrtle, Marguerite "Bobbie", Eslie Mae "Yay", Edith Pauline, John Washington, Beaulah Frances "Pat", James Guthrie "Jimmy", and David Henry.

Both Eslie and Beaulah were teachers, and my grandmother told me that Beaulah became a principal. She met her husband while he was doing some sort of building work at the school she would be principal of.
