Still trying to find father of John J. Staples who lived in New York City, 1790's until death in 1809. Married AMY Purdy 1798 daughter of Timithy. (had 1 or 2 previous marriages). John appears to have come from Westchester County, NY.
John is buried in the ‘Mangle Minthorne/John Staples vault in St Pauls Churchyard in Manhattan.
I have John Staples Will in which he appoints Mangle Minthorne and Daniel Tompkins as Administrators, his wife as Amy Purdy, land in Blooming Grove that he owns with Mangle Minthorne and he mentions his children but no William.I know he had a son William however he died about the time William was born.
