I have been doing some research on this and I belive that I have proof this is most likely the correct Stark. The picture that I sent to you earlier may help when you find someone that could possibly corroborate the findings. Those being worth the proverbial thousand words.
Many census errors, in question if him....from other census I think have proven that the states did not always agree on parents birthplace. This is a probable sign the person themself is not giving information. Once done could not change. The passport addy and census addy being the clincher.
Disagreements let me know what and where they may be. I believe Lindsey A. Stark born March 6, 1824 Clarke County, married to Talitha J. Unknown born 1825 Indiana is the father of your Charles Boyer Stark.

this note for him is found on same tree as the wife Paul and it too is on ancestry as unknown:
Uncle Bill was always a member of the family and I remember him well. He lived at the Pasadena apartments with an apartment above my grandmother's. He had an extra room that was over the downstairs lobby, in that room he had a big rocking chair and he would sit and rock and smoke large "stogies". (cigars for the uninitiated) He was fussy about his cars and when my brother Ben went to Florida, where Uncle Bill went every winter, to drive him home they had to stop every 1000 miles regardless of where they were and have the oil changed and the car greased. I remember him as manager of the old Newcomb Loom Co. and the building still stands across the street from Oscar Mayer. It is a tavern now.
He was listed as agent of the Adams Express Company in Paula's obituary in 1900. His obituary indicates he came here to establish an office of that company. In 1900 he resigned to assume management of the Newcomb Loom Co. He retired from business in 1918. I remember him at all familky functions and when I was at the Hayward ranch, the summer before Mother died, he came there for a visit. Short and amiable I liked him very much he was an interesting individual.
During the depression Grandmother moved to Jennie Strasser's home as a boarder and Uncle Bill went to board with the Muhs'. Apparently they both had to give up their apartments at the Pasadena, which still stands today on Main Street between 12th. and 13th., west side. JFL

Gwen has sent this note:
I see your line here on the 1900 census for Gustav Schlegel and wife and William and Paula Stark
living with them. However this says that William's parents were born in PA and the parents of our
William B. were b. in IN. I don't think he is our William B. Stark.

I filled this one out above in these notes with the family members. I did not include her parents that are above the couple. It shows her father as head of house, and on the line that has him with her, he is head of house. Must mean renting apartment, is my guess.
