Lee, I think, you have found my grandfather Richard Stark Short's line. I was so excited to read your note. Much of my info is from oral history from several of Richard's 14 children much of which was conflicting. The name of Frank came from one sibling but no other sibling remembered it. Interestingly is Richard's first son was named Henry and his second son named William (could the W in George W name be William?)A DNA test has not been done. I will contact one of Richard's grandson about his taking the DNA test. My use of NC or VA was from the 1880 census listing as where Lizzie (NC) and Richard's (VA) parents were born. Looking forward to more exchange of information.
