I have a story that is similar although the names don't match yours. My g-grandfather was George W. Stark, born in Honeycutt, TN (later named Oakdale, Morgan Co.) George's father was listed as Henry Stark on the death cert-mother's name unknown. Both parents died-circumstances and location unknown. Geo had brothers William and Richard plus a sister Elizabeth. William dropped out of sight. Richard was adopted by a family named Short. Elizabeth was only weeks old when parents died. She kept the name Stark, but lived with some other family. George subsequently made his way to OK and settled near Ryan, OK. Based on DNA results George's father is possibly Henry Stark from Sumner County, TN, b. abt 1838. Henry's father was John Stark born 1811. What is interesting is that Robert & Almira, Richard Stark Short's adopted parent were in Rockwood, Roane Co. in 1880. That's only 14 miles southwest of Honeycutt, TN (Oakdale). It also appears from census records that Richard Stark Short worked in Oakdale for Southern RR for many years until he retired in KY. I have not been able to confirm Henry Stark's location subsequently to 1860. Thus I have not been able obtain any source data linking Henry to George W. Stark. I are you certain that Richard Stark Short's brother was named Frank and any info on other siblings. Thanks. Lee Stark
