HELP! The estate records of Willoughby SLAYDEN show an Archibald, named as a son, so when I found this family:

I felt that I had tracked this man down, HOWEVER, all continuations for Reuben (Ruby) and Caroll and Washburn in Hopkins co KY clearly appear as STATON. Also the marriage record for Archibald to Parthinia BERRY is usually transcribed as SLATON (Nov 1831). I would love to be able to drop this entire line from my trees, but there is much argument that these are incorrectly recorded as STATONS, but I think the opposite. Anyone who can put us out of our misery will be greatly appreciated, by showing convincing data that these are all STATONS/STAYTONS.
