Surnames: Steen, Klages, Ackley , Mills
I am descended from Joachim and Whilimima (sp) Klages Steen of Manning, Carroll County Iowa. Joachim was born about 1840 in Holstein Germany. He married Whilimena Klages in 1865 according to the obituary. Whilimena died in 1916 in Manning and Joachim in 1920. They are buried in Manning. I am descended from their son Fred Steen who married Catherine Mills (Moehl) in Lost Nation, Clinton Co Iowa in 1883. Fred Steen died on 1930 and Catherine Steen died in 1949 in Manning. My greatgrandmother was their daughter Bertha who was born in 1887 in Lost Nation and died in 1916 in Manning. She was married to Fritz Schmidt. Her oldest daughter (my grandmother) was Anna Catherine who married George Raymond Ackley. They lived in Ft Dodge IA and also Minnesota. Any connections?
