Peter Steinhauer is my grandfather. He was a "German from Russia." He came to America in the late 1800's or early 1900's with his son Walter, and his wife (name unknown). After his wife died, he married Mary Lich Gerling, a widow with a daughter, Emma Gerling. Five more children were born: Pauline 1906, Marie 1908, Victor 1910, Oscar 1914 - all born in Sutton, NE and Martha 1918, born in Fresno, CA. I am looking for information as to when they came to America, where they came from in Russia and in Germany and the name of Peter's first wife.
