I am looking for information on the "Steinhauer" piano. I have an 1899 Steinhauer Chicago, Grand Cabinet, Piano Patented April 25, 1899. I current live in Colorado and it was given to me in the 1960's, I am hoping to find additional information about the "Steinhauer" brand. Looking at your post, the Steinhauer's you may have some knowledge of were in IL. Perhaps the "Frederick Steinhauer" family in Colorado in 1895 obtained this piano from the family in Illinois. Do you know of the Steinhauer Piano company?

Since, I did receive an email from a Piano Historian and he reported the Steinhauer Piano was a small company in the late 1800's, but they made very good quality pianos. Apparently pianos were also made in Germany before manufacturing in the USA began. There was one website noted that only 232 pianos were made in the 1890's.

If you have any information on your family and production of the piano please let me know.
