STEITZ of Stammheim, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany

Heinrich Steitz and wife Elizabeth arrived in NY in 1857 with many others from Stammheim, Germany, headed for Chicago where they settled. Other Steitz relatives followed. We are seeking connections in the US and Germany to the STEITZ family of Stammheim, Germany.

Heinrich Steitz went to Gold Dirt, Colorado Territory and was there in 1860, based on correspondence we have from him. Katherine Steitz remained in Stammheim, based on correspondence we have from here in 1860. Also in 1860 Elizabeth Steitz married George REICHHOLD in Chicago, Illinois.

To Laurel Meyer

Thank you for your reply. However, I don't believe this is the person. Norman Steltz was married to Mary Elizabeth Wright Steltz, and had children named, Norman, Robert, and Marge. He passed away I believe in the 1930's.

There was a Norman Steltz, who married Tennessee Mabel Kern approx. 8/10 May 1929. She was the sister of my grandfather. I have a newspaper article and photograph of Norman. I believe they had a son by the name of Norman. Would this be your Norman?
