Classification: Query
The following clans appear to be separate and distinct lines that were not closely related to each other:

Stephenson Clans of Early Virginia -
Clan 1 - The Stephenson’s that settled around Harrisonburg VA in present day Rockingham Co. ca1740 (John, David, William, Robert, Thomas)
Clan 2 - The Stephenson’s that settled north of Lexington VA in present day Rockbridge Co. ca1740 (John, George, Andrew)
Clan 3 - The Stevenson’s that settled on the Calfpasture River ca1740 (John and Martha Warwick-Stevenson)
Clan 4 - The Stephenson’s that settled on Rockfish River in old Amherst/Albemarle Co. ca1748 (Edward & Elizabeth) Later family went to Madison Co. KY
Clan 5 - The Stephenson’s that settled on the Pamunkey River in the area of present day Orange Co. ca1740's (Thomas) later family went to Madison Co. KY ca1800
Clan 6 - ??? Any more candidates that at this time don’t appear to have been part of the above clans?

A group of Stephenson/Stevenson researchers is looking for YDNA tests on male line descendants of the above patriarchs. We are attempting to separate out the distinct lines in order to facilitate ease of research.
