My GGGrandfather, Chauncey Stevens(sometimes Chancey by census takers)would have been born in NY State(?) in 1797 but is in 1830,1840 and 1850Franklin co.,Springfield Township,Indiana. One of his sons James Bartlow Stevens/Stephens is my GGrandfather, my Grandfather Joseph Chauncey Stevens was born there, then the family moved to Preble Co.,Eaton Ohio.My father Joseph Edward Stevens,, was born in West Springfield, Ma.in 1900.
