Hi, Tammy. I am searching for any information on a Stevens family in central Indiana. My stone wall is a Nathan Stevens, who was born around 1800 in Pennsylvania--according to his son's entry on the 1880 Howard County, IN census. Nathan migrated through Ohio since his son Nathan Lester Stevens was born there around 1826. The family was in the Tipton/Madison/Howard county area as early as 1840, certainly 1850 since son Nathan Lester married Mary Alice Woods in Montgomery Co., IN, in that year. According to a family story, Nathan Stevens lived to be over 100, was married several times, possibly to a Mason, Fisher, or Scovell. Nathan may have had a brother or father Isaac, born around 1777 and a sister Martha born around 1784.
