I can't seem to make any progress researching my gr-grandfather....Thomas Sutherland Stewart, b. 1873, Motherwell or Wishaw Scotland....moved to Canada about 1910. My grandmother went to Scotland and tried to find some info on him. She said that the Motherwell records were lost in a fire. I was also told that his parents owned a scotch distillery and the reason he traveled to Canada was to follow up on rumors of the scotch being watered down. Any info that would help me over this hump would be greatly appreciated.
