Some further info on this couple and their children.
The Orphans Court of Luzerne Co. Pa on 28 April 1819. Rev. George Lane was appointed guardian of the estate of Martha, Abigail and Caroline Stewart, the three oldest children of James and Hannah Jameson Stewart and as guardian of the three youngest, their mother was appointed. James Stewart and Hannah Jameson were married June 20, 1799.
Martha was b. 1800, Abigail b. 25 Dec. 1802, and Caroline b. 1804. These were the three oldest in 1808 when James died. On Feb. 2, 1808 when James Stewart executed his last will and testament, he left 1/3of his personal and real estate absolutely to his wife with the other 2/3 to his children to be divided among his five children then in being and any posthumous child that might be born. His youngest children were Francis(Fanny)b ca 1805 and Lazarus b. ca 1806. Lazarus being described in the will that he was the youngest child but the first born son of James and Hannah and that he should "receive a share to be double the share of each of the other children".
In 1819 you will see that there are six children, as mentioned in the will James stated a posthumous child. Hannah was probably pregnant at the time James died. This child was a daughter and her name was Mary. From this will, Lazarus was the only son of James and Hannah.
Some have put James Stewart b. 1796 m. to Mary JOnes as a son but I have not found any proof of this. If anyone knows who the parents of this James b. 1796 is would appreciate hearing. I do think he is some relation to this family but not a son of James and Hannah.
