STEWART, Basil G. May 29, 1920 - June 27, 2013 Basil G. Stewart, of Springfield, OHIO, passed away peacefully on June 27th, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl Leonard and Myrtle Stewart, his first wife Marjorie, his brothers Raymond, Elwood, James and Robert, and his sister Truby Jean.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, his brother Bruce, his daughter Paula Diane DePuy, his grandson's Curtis and Paul DePuy, his great granddaughter Aurora, and his extended family the Ream's, which include Rachel &Tom, Jenny & Mike, Brad & Nichole and their families.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, a beloved niece, Joyce of North Carolina, a special granddaughter-in-law, Yadira
Basil was a member of the United States Navy Seabees during WWII.
He was part owner of the Stemun Manufacturing Company and later was part owner of Stewart Manufacturing with his brother, James.
He enjoyed dabbling in amateur astronomy, geology and piloting, as well as being a prolific painter of abstract art.
Basil did what he loved best in his life and that was to travel the United States and take in all that life had to offer. He enjoyed traveling all the way through his 92nd birthday and was grateful for every second of time that he had on earth.
Adkins Funeral Home, Enon,Ohio is assisting Basil's family with his final wishes.
No memorial service is planned.
