Re: query regarding Mary Cole. Last child of Jacob and Maria Stinchfield, born October 6, 1849 in Lincoln, ME., married Willis H. Cole formerly of S. Portland, ME. August 9, 1876 in Ionia MI. In December 1877, lost her first child. June 17, 1879, Charles S. Cole born. On November 3, 1882, Willis Vernon Cole born. June 17, 1882, Lawrence Cole born. On November 19,1884, Mary died suddenly in Detroit. Charles Stinchfield, her brother, assumed complete resposibility for the children, reared them with his with the help of his mother, Maria. On April 2, 1886, Lawrence died at the age of three.The childrens' father had given up responsibility for them.
