Thomas 4 Stockton, a son of Jesse 3 and Mary (nee Hays) Stockton, appears to have been born on 4 June 1788. Thomas 4 Stockton was the only one of Jesse 3 Stockton's children that T.J. Stockton did not have an exact date of birth for in his book. T.J. Stockton's information that Thomas was born in 1795 appears to have been just an incorrect guess by T.J. Stockton. Thomas 4 Stockton, son of Jesse 3 and Mary (nee Hays) Stockton, died 17 Jan 1853, age 64 years, 7 months, 13 days.

This is an excellent match for what both Davis Stockton OF Virginia and T.J. Stockton have for the family of Jesse 3 and Mary (nee Hays) Stockton. It does not appear that T.J. Stockton included any additional information about Thomas 4 Stockton besides his name and year of birth. The mother of Mary (nee Hays) Stockton was Sophia (nee Wood) Hays.

20 Oct 1812 Sophia 4 Stockton, daughter of Jesse and Mary (nee Hays) Stockton, married William Evans in Barren County, Kentucky. Thomas Stockton, Jr., was the surety. He appears to be Thomas 3 (Thomas 2, Davis 1) Stockton, Jr.
