Michael,
Thanks so much for the offer to help. Any suggestions would be appreciated. It took me two days to get through the "Google/Ancestry Melt Down Barrier" to get back to this message.(!) Here is my group:
1850 McMinn County, TN., (p.2 of 294):
Rufus Stone 31 VA.
Ann " 21 PA. (Ann Parshall)
John " 5 "
Clementine 3 "
James 5 " (my line)
James 62 VA.
Wm. 27 TN.
Jonathan 25 "
Jerimiah 23 "
Susan 20 "
SOOOOO....
Ann Parshall was definately from PA. So did Rufus marry her and live there for a couple of years, then join his family in TN.? Is James the father of Rufus, as well as the younger boys? (I assume so, but I'm looking for confirmation). Who was the father of James Stone, 62? Where in VA.? Research suggests Jeremiah, son of William, OR Jeremiah, son of Jeremiah, in Wythe County, VA., possibly were the father of James 62, in 1850 TN.
If anyone has evidence to confirm or disprove such a connection, I would really enjoy a way around this brick wall! If there are places to contact in McMinn, or Roane, TN., or in Wythe County, VA., for records, I would love that info., also. Thanks so much for any help anyone could offer. I'm also at mrstone5@Lycos.com Thanks! Mike.
