Do you have any record of a Susanna Barbara Lortz? My ggg grandmother, Anna Katharina Schuchmann was the daughter of Susanna Barbara Lortz & Ludwig Schuhmann.

Anna Katharina (Catherine) married Johann Adam Reining - they lived in Ober Modau, Hessen and Catherine immigrated to Mansfield, Ohio in 1892.

I thought the Mansfield connection was pretty specific and may suggest a family connection with her Lortz side.

Thanks!

Hi John -

I am Heather's mother, Barbara.

I also stumbled across this and was surprised to see you had just made your entry at the beginning of this month. Most of the previous entries were made years ago.

I believe you have the right family, if the person you are looking for is James Leroy Storck. My information comes from what Heather has told me. I hope I am remembering it correctly.

Jim is currently married to Joyce. Together they have three children, James II (Jimmy), Kelly, and Debbie. They did live Tulsa, OK and Heather says they now they now live in Tennessee. I believe the whole family lives there.

Heather is Jim's first daughter from my marriage to him over 40 years ago in Ohio.

If you don't mind, I'll pass your email address on to Heather and she can send it on to her father.

I'm sure this is way more information than you wanted! I guess you never know just what information you are going to flush out on these geneology sites. :)

Also, hello to all of Jim's family if any of them should read this.

Best of luck !
~ barbara

Hi Heather,
My name is John, I stumbled the response that James Leroy Storck II posted to you. from what he said he sounds like he be the son of a friend of mine the I lost contact with in 1988 when I moved Wa.St. If he is, he would have 2 younger sisters(at time I was in touch with their Mom and Dad), The youngest was named Debbie and the sister just older than her was Kelly. Their Mothers named was Joyce. James II, was nicknamed Jimmy. They left Tulsa, Okla. sometime in Sept. 1988 shortly after I did, If you think they might be who I'm looking for, I would be very gratful if you could give the parents my email address:<a href="http://www.the_tazman1826@yahoo.com" target="_blank">www.the_tazman1826@yahoo.com

Frank C. Storck of Red Bank, NJ

From the New York Times, July 8, 1914

Frank C. Storck Weds

Red Bank Piano Man, Recently Divorced, Marries Miss Mae Meyers

Red Bank, NJ, July 7 - Much surprise was expressed here today over the announcement of the marriage of Frank C. Storck, who recently obtained a divorce from Mrs. Prunetta Storck Knecht, to Miss Mae Meyers, daughter of Dr. D.P. Meyers of Lockhaven, Penn. The marriage took place last Friday at the home of the bride. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Williamson, pastor of the Lockhaven First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Storck Knecht was married several months ago to Otto Knecht of Newark, whom Mr. Storck in his divorce proceedings named as correspondent. In her suit for alimony before the divorce suit was started, Mrs. Knecht used the name of the present Mrs. Storck, who, it is said, was a frequent visitor at the Storck home at that time.

Mr. and Mrs. Storck were passengers on the Vaterland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Vaterland), which sailed from Hoboken today. They will visit the principal cities abroad and will return in September.

Mr. Storck conducts piano stores in Red Bank, Freehold, and Long Branch. He is commodore of the Red Bank Motor club and one of the best-known citizens here.

His grave:

http://distantcousin.com/cemetery/nj/monmouth/christchurch/_...
Eric,
Sorry, but the names you mentioned are not familiar to me. The only additional names I have located in Philadelphia which may be related to me are Jacob (b1854), Christian (b1865), and Franz/Frank (b1867) who are all probably brothers and lived together in 1910 and in 1930 (maybe 1920, too). Also, I found an Adolph (b1861) maried to Elsie in the 1910 census. I will keep your names with my research, and if anything shows up, I'll let you know. Good luck.
Kathryn

I am researching the Storck Family of Philadelphia. My grandmother Catharine Storck (b5/1887) was the daughter of Philip F. (b5/1857)and Rosina Storck (9/1855) of Hamburg, Germany. She arrived to Ellis Island April or May 1892. Her siblings included brothers included Adolph (b1885), Otto (b1891), Franz (b1884), and sister Maria (b1888). Philip's second wife was named Mary.

Catharine's first husband was named Kelly. She was a young widow when she married William Karcher.

Is anyone else researching this family?

Kathryn Becek

Shelby Storck of Kansas City

I am looking for more information on a man named Shelby William Storck. This is what I have on him so far:

born ca. 1916 in Kansas City, MO

Grandson of famous Civil War General Joseph Orville Shelby. Parents were probably William and Gladys Shelby Storck (?)

Spent most of his life in Kansas City, acted on a local vintage radio program "Air Adventures of Jimmie Allen" (1933-37; 1946-47), was a weathercaster on WDAF-TV, did some acting in a couple of movies made in Kansas City, "The Delinquents," "The Cool and the Crazy," etc., had his own film and TV production company in St. Louis

Died in St. Louis in 1969

Has an award named after him at the University of Missouri-Kansas City called the "Shelby Storck Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching," and there's a "Shelby Storck Award for Excellent Achievement in the Arts of Political Advertising," in Washington, D.C. Furthermore, there is an award named after his wife at UMKC, the "Barbara Storck Memorial Award for Poetry."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's what complicates matters: first of all, no "Shelby Storck" can be found in birth, death, or marriage records. But the biggie is what I found out when I, assuming that he could have originally been born with the name of William Storck, I looked him up in census records in 1920. It said that he was living in Springfield, Illinois, born in 1916 in Missouri, which would qualify, and that his parents were William and Edna Storck. Same thing in 1930, except he was living in a little town called University near St. Louis, Missouri. Is this the same person? Any help would be appreciated.

I have nothing beyond incomplete notes taken from the 1900 census index for Illinois, which I saw in 1990 on microfilm : reel no. T1043 397, Soundex S362.

The main entry was for Charles, wife Minnie, children Ethel and Edith, in-laws = DINSMORE. Additional detail was not taken. Actual census was not seen.

However, I will comment on the first name Minnie. Somewhere on the message boards at Ancestry.com I did see a message that for a certain woman, Minnie was a diminutive of Wilhelmina.

Lester Sellinger

Hello Vera Abraham!
I understand that you are looking for your Storck roots from Gross Bieberau, and your family lived at Hauptstrasse 42 in 1690. There is probably a connection. My G-G Grandfather, Joh. Andreas Storck (1803-1875) stems from Hartmann Storck (1610) and I can go back even a bit further. Let me know how I can help you.
Sincerely, Natalie

Carl Storck was born in Columbus, Ohio. Father's name was Otto, but he must have been raised by his grandfather, John Storck, according to Ohio 1910 microde-census index. Carl did live in Middletown,Ohio with his wife Martha. They were foster parents to more than 50 children. They adopted several of them. Martha died in 1982 and Carl died in 2000.

I had Storck relatives in Kentucky and am wondering if this farm you mention was in Hart Co. - Bonnieville, KY - originally known as Bacon Creek. Would this have been Charles Augustus Storck's (9/28/1871) farm? My gg grandmother was Elizabeth Stock Weber. They spent a few years "at a farm in Bacon Creek, KY" and i am trying to find a family connection.

David,

I'm wondering if Johann Storck is a brother to Charles Stork.
Charles went by the name Karl and is buried in Lake Forest.
He was born in 1796. I only know the name of two of his brothers. Carl and Charles. However, I know that there were at least five brothers and that most of them were physicians. Three of them were physicians for Napoleon's army and died in action. The family was from Baden Germany and educated in Vienna and Frieburg. They emigrated in 1850 and lived in Buffalo New York. (Erie Co.) Charless' mother was Louisa Dietz. Does any of this seem to fit?

April Lutz
ericlutz@attbi.com

Looking for family of John Charles Storck of Kentucky

Family argument in early 1900's and my grandmother (Elizabeth Ruth Storck Crane) and her brother John Charles Storck (born 8/2/1907 Pittsfield Illinois-died June 1987 Perryville KY) did not talk for decades. She did finally see him one last time (prior to his death in 1987) at his farm in Kentucky and they made peace. Their parents were Charles Augustus Storck (9/28/1871 and Minnie Dinsmore Storck (10/31/1873). Sisters Edith Louise 8/11/1898, Ethel Lenora 11/26/1895 and Elizabeth my Grandma. Just thought it would be nice to know this side of my roots.
