Hi Maureen,

I stumbled across your post while looking for something else and thought I would reply as I am related by marriage to the Head family mentioned. My husband is Wayne. Are you also a relative?

Although I have been researching for many years, this is the first time I have heard that Abby Storms mother was born in Montana. There is a family rumour, however, that somewhere along the line, native blood is intermingled and I have tried unsuccessfully to find that link. Do you have documentation of her birth that you would be willing to share? I would be very grateful and, in return, would be happy to do likewise with whatever I can to assist you.

I was going through my Harvey pictures and found an old picture of 3 women. I had purchased this picture thinking that it may be one of my Harvey's, however, that is not the case. It is of 3 women, back is labeled Mrs.Storms, Bertha Harvey, Daisy Dodge. The man I purchased this from was from Alabama, but the picture could be from anywhere. The picture looks to be from about 1900 or so, give or take a few... I am looking to find this card's family.

I am also a Storms from New Jersey, and have found my surch is frustrating on finding information on the Storms family. Here is what I know so far: William Storms born 1843 or 1848 married Addie V Green Oct 1864 in Paterson NJ They had 4 children Frederick R Storms b:1-10-1872; John Storms b:4-1874; Irma Storms b:1-1873; and Esma F. Storms b:1871 If you or anyone else can help to verify any of this information I would be very greatful.

I am searching for the parents and family origins of Mary Ann Storms and Mahlon Mathews, who were living in Pompton Lakes, N.J. in 1860 and 1870. They were married before 1853 and had a child, Sarah Elizabeth Mathews in Ringwood, N.J. in 1853. Mahlon Mathews was born ca. 1825 in N.J. Mary Ann Storms was born in ca. 1833 in N.Y., daughter of Thomas Storms. Any help at all would be very much appreciated.

I do remember seeing an Emma Archer Storms somewhere along the way. Not exactly sure where as I'm sure you know the trials and tribulations of searching the Storms family!

Do you know William's father and mother's name?

The only Williams I have in my line both died young. They were the children of John J. Storms and Jane Guest. But, it wouldn't be uncommon for one of their sons to name their child, William after their brothers.

Well William is a popular name in the Storms line so I'm hoping other names ring a bell. William b. 7/1851 in NJ family from NY. Married Jane Boyd b. 8/1863 in NY family from Ireland, marr in 1888. Children Ruth b. 2/1889 m. David Ridgeway, Emma Archer b. 7/1891-1919 married William Methven, William b. 9/14/1892 in Penn married Martha ? in 1915. Seems like alot of info , but not really.

MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Helen M. Storms, 78, Muscatine, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at the Muscatine Care Center.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Ostrem
will officiate. Pallbearers are Mike Carpenter, Melvin Carpenter, John E. Elliott, Daryl Rickheim,
Richard A. Axtell and Tom Rickheim. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Storms was born May 23, 1924, in Muscatine, the daughter of James Edwin and Eva Mae Hahn
Elliott. She married DeWayne Storms Jan. 25, 1946, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in December 1998.

She was a lifelong resident of Muscatine. She worked at the Muscatine Care Center for 16 years as the
activities director. She also worked at J.C. Penney for 15 years as a clerk.

She was a Girl Scout leader for 11 years and a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Survivors include a son, James E. Morgan and his wife, Karen, of Muscatine; a daughter, Linda Graham
and her husband, Richard, of Muscatine; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, five sisters and her husband.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for but my father's brothers name was William F. Storms (FRED) and their fathers name was Frederick R. Storms Born in 1872. Both born in New Jersey. They lived in Jersey City.

I've just started my search into the Storms lineage and know there might be some connection we may have. My Great Grandfather Frederick Storms born n 1872 had a brother John Storms born in 1874. The best I can figure to date is that their father William Storms father was named Frederick born in 1828. Pleas replay if any connection or not. They all lived in New Jersey

I have been researching the Storms family for a long time.
I have Silas Springer Storms married to Sarah Mariah Cronk or Cronkite. Silas was born abt. 1795 in New York and died May 3, 1871 in Florida, Orange County New York at his daughter (Frances Hall) home. Sarah, Silas wife (married her Oct 30, 1818) was born about 1800 in New Jersey and died about 1871, they had 13 children. I have some info on all 13.
I have found many family researchers through the years, must be in the blood. My line comes from Silas S. Storms b 5/19/1820 & Mariah Louise Williams b.11/24/1828, daughter Mary Clara Emma Storms b. 10/31/1862 waiting to hear from you Joanne

I am looking for any information on my ggrandfather Peter William Storms and his parents and family. According to his marriage announcement he is the s/o Henry Storms and Eliza Ann ______ and he married Levina Brown.

I have found Peter's birth date ranging from 1817 on his death record to 1833 according to a census (if it is indeed the same person).

In an 1851 Canada West, Addington County, Camden Township Census, it lists

Henry Storms (40)
Peter Storms (18)
James Storms (13)
William Storms (7)
Mary I. Storms (9)

It also lists Eliza Ann as passing away in 1851 at the age of 39.

Any information would be greatly appeciated as I am stuck here. Thanks!!

Storm family of Wayne Co, NY

I think I may have found a connection with this Storm family. My ancestor was Martin VanDeusen and wife, Elizabeth Ostrander VD who were married and had their older children baptised at Claverack, Columbia Co, NY. The family moved from there "west" and the children born after 1787 were not baptised at Claverack. The two volume VanDeusen genealogy published in 1912 shows they had a younger daughter, Lucretia VanDeusen born "abt 1786". The only other note with her name is "married Storms". Most of the children of Martin and Elizabeth VanDeusen settled at Phelps, Ontario Co, NY and spread out from there. I found in the 1850 census at Huron, Wayne Co, NY "Elizabeth Storms, born 1786" Living apparently with her son Samuel Storms and his family. I have read messages here from descendants of this family living in Bureau Co, Illinois. I would like to hear from any of these decendants who may be interested in pursuing this VanDeusen possible connection.

I am looking for information about my gg grandfather Henry E. Storms 1818-1903 who married Effie Lydecker - both of Rockland county. I believe his parents may be John Storms and Catherine. I think their other children may have been David O. Storms, Rachel, Elizabeth Storms Conklin. Henry was a cooper and bucket manufacturer. He is buried in Oak Hill cemetery in Nyack with 3 subsequent generations.

Ken, I just read your message on the board. An Albert V. Storms (1855-1918) was my great grandfather. He lived in Lee, NY. In the 1900 census for Lee he is married to Ann Jones Storms. She died in 1906, and in the 1910 he is living in Lee, NY with Elizabeth as his wife, as well as a William and Albert Hughes as his step-sons. Could this be the same Albert and Elizabeth? Albert died in 1918, and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Turin Rd., Lee, NY.

family. I am decended from David Storm 1717. He and
Elizabeth Gardenier/Gardener's son Isaac D. Storm 1753, who married Abigail Graham, were my gggg grandparents.
have "Old Dirck's Book" that is the book of the family from
1390 Dederick Storm. "Old Dirck was the 1st to come to
New Amsterdam from the Netherlands. He was also quite
involved in recordings in the churches he attended, since
his handwriting was so good. He was well educated for
that time. I live in Camden, N.Y., where Isaac and his
family lived . His son Theodorus Van Wyck Storms and
his wife are buried in Annsville's Maple Hills Cemetery,
near Camden. I have visited it and found the graves as
well as his brother David and possibly their sister Maria.
I can fill in quite a bit if you are interested. I am in the
process of writing up a paper to continue the line from
Isaac D. to my father, Harold William Storms 1909-1984.

I found out that my Gma Bernice's real name is bertha. her father Peter Lucas, and mother Anna Smith.

I'm wondering if anyone can help answer this question. Where can I find information on the burial place of Staas Storm(s), bp. 11 April 1730, Tarrytown, NY. He was married to Belitje Van Wert b. 17 June 1735.

Staas Storm was the son of Staets Storm and Susanna DeVoe (deVaux) and moved from Tarrytown, NY to Paramus, NJ
