Because of this board posting I now know who my ancestors were. This line is from Germany. Part of the immigration of the Palentinate Stoudts. Peter Stoudt was our ancestor that was born in Essweiler,Palentinate, Germany in 1720 and married Maria Catherine ____? also born in Palentinate.Peter was naturalized in 1765 in PA. Buried in Tohicken Reformed Church Cemetery. in Bucks Coo. PA.

and their son Johan George Stoudt born 1771, married Hannah Sell;
and their son Benjamin Stoudt born 1813 in Rockland Twp. Berk Co. PA.married Henrietta Long or Delong;
This was Cosmus parents.Benjamin Stoudt and Henrietta Long or Delong.
There were 10 children and Cosmus was the 9th born. in 1850. Cosmus also had a younger brother Benjamin and Cosmus named one of his son's Benjamin.

Clara Ann Stoudt, born 1838, same place, died in 1925;

Gideon Stoudt, born 1842, married Rebecca and had son Samuel, was living in Rebecca's parents home in West Leesport, Berks Co. PA;
Ambrose Stoudt born 1842;
Amos Stoudt born 1846, reported to have died 1865 in Salisbury prison camp, Civil War.
Jairus D. Stoudt, born 1848, married Selinda
and the youngest known was
Benjamin Stoudt, born in 1852, and in 1880 census was singel and living with brother Jairus in Northhampton Co. PA.

I am yet to find any Indian connections through marriage for this family line. My great Uncles were definately American Indian and thought to be Cherokee?
The only lead I can come up with is Cosmus wife, Arvilla P. (Percilla) Merritt, born 1849 in Ohio and her parents both born in New York.
I am pretty sure she had a brother Daniel and there were 6 kids in her family. I am pretty sure her mother was Anna E.___? Merritt, born 1820 NY, and also listed living with him was an Aunt in the 1900 census Victoria Twp. Stark Co. IL, was Pazseilla? Nanbleet or Nanblut? born 1824 NY,very hard to read on 1900 census.She also reports being born in NY as well as her parents. As far as I know, Cosmus was the only one from his family to move to Illinois. From the time he was born in Berks Co. PA. in 1850 till he was 30 years old in Illinois, I have no information.
Oh and Cosmus wife, Arvilla was married to John Symington and had a daughter Nancy E.(Elizabeth, I believe) Symington ,raised by Cosmus, and Nancy married a Albert, Bert King born 1865, Stark Co. IL.
