In looking at your family tree I see you have traced back to Samuel Stout (1740-1825) and Rachel Chauncy. There is a Stout/Staudt/Stoudt DNA Project that my family participated in and it was determined we have Native American blood (Haplo C3). One other participant also traced his ancestry back to Samuel and Rachel Stout and he also tested Haplo C3. Have you considered being tested? If interested please let me know and I will send you information as to a contact person.

Samuel Stout

I have copies of a few documents from a guardianship file from the Probate Court of Fairfield Co., OH, regarding two minor children of the deceased Samuel Stout - the children's names being Deborah & Catharine. The guardian's name is George S. Baker who I know lived in the vicinity of Stoutsville, OH and was married to Rachel Stout. From the few documents I found, it indicates that Mr. Baker was taking care of the affairs of these two girls from at least 1848, meaning that their father Samuel was deceased at least by that date. And indications are that Mr. Baker was still their guardian in 1860, meaning they would have still been minors at that time. There are many Samuel Stout's. Does anyone know who the father of Deborah & Catharine might be?

Any and all help appreciated - Karen

There is very little information on John Stout who died by 1794. H. F. Stout, in his book "Stout and allied Families, Vol. 2, 1974" says he died aged about 90 years in Louisiana. This seems unlikely, but who knows? However in Washington Co. TN Court Minutes dated 1794 a number of his children "orphans" are farmed out to a number of people including some of the Broyles family to learn a trade".

So perhaps like his son John who died in Washington Co. TN in 1869... he was buried on his farm?

Jerry

To my knowledge, the Johan Michael Staudt, b. 1712, who was married to Barbara (Hougen/Houg?), did not have a brother born in 1693 named John Daniel. In fact, all indications are that Johan Michael's parents were married in 1699.

Karen

Regarding the relationship between George STOUT, John G. STOUT, etc. to Daniel STOUT who died in Bloomington, Monroe Co. IN. They probably are related but I've never managed to figure out how John G. STOUT was related to Godfrey Daniel Stout of Carter and Johnson Cos. TN. DANIEL STOUT of Monroe Co. IN... was the son of JOHN STOUT of Washington Co. TN and a brother to my husband's John STOUT Jr. of Washington Co. TN. JOHN STOUT of Washington Co. TN was the brother of Godfrey Daniel STOUT of Johnson Co. TN, both were sons of Daniel [or Johan Daniel] STOUT whose will was proved in Frederick Co. VA.

Regarding the GEORGE STOUT - SARAH J. DAVIS Marriage record. At one time I copied from film the WPA on Indiana Marriages... including those for Monroe Co. IN. Now I belong to Ancestry.com where a part of those records have been put online. They are not complete, in fact, the one I'm sending does not even show the County... but here it is:

Indiana Marriage Collection, 1800-1941
Name: Sarah J Davis
Spouse Name: George T Stout
Marriage Date: 27 Apr 1866
Book: 4
OS Page: 444
up arrow
Source Citation: Title: , , ; Book: 4;Page: 444.
Source Information:
Ancestry.com. They had 3 children-Lucy Jane, James Daniel and Mary Ann born 1852-1853. Mary married My Gr-Gr- Grandfather John William Ray(Rae) in Illinois in 1868.

They had two children. William Alonzo Ray born 1869 in Illinois and Martha Ann Ray Koehn in 1870 in Missouri
Mary died, we think maybe in Missouri.

Martha Hatfield Stout re-married George Douglas Ward in 1862 and Mary may have assumed the Ward last name because in Gr-Gr-Grandfather John's obituary he named his first wife as Mary Ward. According to family history giving to me by Mrs. Pat Keohn of Illinois she was a Stout and not Ward.

I have been searching for about 3 yrs. with 10,000 email later plus many many phone calls with no connection to this line of family.

If you have any information on this line of Hatfield’s and Stout any information would be great appreciated.

Thanks
Jeneva Moulder
txcripplecreek@yahoo.com
Albert Stout

I have been researching the Elbert Stout line for years. Elbert & wife Nancy Williamson came from Tyler County VA to Buchanan County MO around 1848 to 1849 timeframe. After 10 years there they went to Marshall County KS to homestead. I can account for all the children except Albert born around 1848 to 1849 presumably in VA but possibly MO.

An elderly relative told me the story she heard as a child is that Albert left fairly young and went to NW KS nearly to the Colorado border but she didn't know a county name. Albert or his wife evidently sent word that he was very sick. (No record of his marrying in Marshall County KS). His brother Nathaniel went out to help but Albert was dead upon his arrival. Apparenly Albert was fairly young when he died. Nathaniel supposedly brought back Albert's wife and some children to either Marshall or Pottawatomie County KS. I also can't find any record of his wife and/or children.

If anyone has a family story that this could fit into please let me know. Also this relative is in her 90s and sometimes gets facts mixed up. I know there was absolutely an Albert Stout though as he was on census. Given that this dear sweet story teller does get confused I think it's possible he could have been in another state besides KS? Thanks Donna

I know this post is 9 years old and I have tried to contact the original poster at the address listed but to no avail. I have some information that you might like regarding Leroy Stout. At the time of his death, he was married to my grandmother Mary Smith. I can't tell you much about Ronnie or Roger but would be interested in knowing about them as well as the child you speak of. I didn't know Leroy all that well but did come across a letter written to him by his sister Doris in 1942. If you would like a copy I would be glad to scan it in for you. It has to do with family history.

I have uploaded these photos to my page. I am not yet sure how to tell you to access them, but I think if you search for my tree - "Wagaman, Wagerman, Wageman" - you will find a section to click on "photos". They are NOT attached to any one person. They are labeled 1940 Reunion, Left Side of 1929 Reunion, and Right side of 1929 reunion. PLEASE add your family members! AS you add them, I will periodically number the photo to make the key easier to read.
