14th Strassburg Annual Reunion Held August 8
The fourteenth annual reunion of the Strassburg families was held Sunday, August 8, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gath, 572 Ward road, with fifty-four members present.
The following officers were reelected: President, Edward Gath; vice-president, Arthur Ostwald; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Martin Starck. The following were chosen members of the entertainment committee: Mr. and Mrs. Martin Starck, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Burndt, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Strassburg, Lorraine Strassburg and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Strassburg were chosen for the refreshment committee.
A resume of the proceedings will be sent to the nine boys in the armed forces. They are Martin Strassburg, Robert Ostwald, Norman Strassburg, Alvin Ostwald, LaVerne Strassburg, August Strassburg, Warren Gordon, Donald Strassburg and Herbert Rosebrock.
Baseball and horseshoes were played, and a basket supper was enjoyed, after which a short talk was given by Rev. Thiemecke.
The oldest member present was Mr. Ernst Schiebert and the youngest was Jack Robert Krause. There were eight births, two marriages, and four deaths recorded for the year.
The place of the next reunion is to be decided upon by the committee.
