Helen Strausbaugh Redding of PA

Helen Marie Strausbaugh was born 1902 in PA. Her parents were George D. Struasbaugh and Emma Veronica Staub.
Hlen married Raymond Francis Redding in 1920 in St. Mary's RC Church in Mc Sherrystown, Adams, PA.

Helen died 12 May 1962 in Getysburg and Raymond died on 8 Jan 1971 in Gettysburg.

A copy of their obituaries and/or any information on children of the marriage would be greatly appreciated.

Irene Peters Strausbaugh, age 99,
passed away at Forestview Skilled Nursing, on Saturday, April 11, 2009. She was born May 31, 1909 in York, Pa., a daughter of the late Arthur P. and Virginia March Peters."
She graduated from William Penn High School in York, Pa., she then graduated in 1929 from Shippensburg Normal School, and received her baccalaureate degree from Millersville State College in 1961.
Irene began her career as an elementary school teacher in a one room school house in York County, Pa. After thirty-five years of teaching in the York area, she retired and moved to Ft. Myers, Fla. in 1964, where she taught for another ten years. She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, York, Pa. and was committed to her faith. She enjoyed gaming and going to the races.
In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by her husband William Thomas Strausbaugh,
and a sister Clara Peters Kessler.
She is survived by a son M. Roy Strausbaugh, and his wife Rosanna of Erie;
a sister I. Catharine Peters McChesney of Vista View, Calif.; a brother Arthur H. Peters of York, Pa.;
a niece Sandra McChesney Young of Oceanside, Calif.; and three nephews: Donald Kessler and his wife Marilee, Arthur W. Peters, all of York, Pa.; and Gary Peters and his companion Esther Kos of Dubois, Pa.
Friends may attend funeral services at the Faith United Church of Christ, 509 Pacific Ave., York, PA 17404, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron Oelrich officiating. Burial in Mt. Rose Cemetery, York, Pa. Memorials may be made to the Erie City Mission, 904 W. Erie Plaza, Erie, PA 16505. Clarence & Alma Reed Strausbaugh are in my family lineage, but I do not see that they have a son by that name. I am assuming Mac is a nickname. Do you know what his first name was?

I am hoping someone can find an obit for Laura Berth Reed Strausbaugh. She died Feb 14, 1908 in, I think in Ross Co., but I have never been able to find an obit in a newspaper there. I think she was raised in Fayette Co., Ohio and was hoping an obit would have been in her hometown paper. Thanks.

I am looking for information on a set of twins. Albert & Alfred Strausbaugh. They are buried in the Olive Branch Cemetary in Ohio on the the Bringman family plot. They died at the age of 8 or 9 from diptheria just a few days apart. Any information on these two little boys would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know William's father's name, but I think it's likely Thomas Beard was his father. The families live in the same area in the 1910 census (East Whitfield Twp, Indiana Co., pages 40B and 41B) but Thomas is single at age 39, living with his elderly mother, 2 young nieces and a nephew. Emma is single, living with her family and her 2 year old son. Emma and Thomas married later that year. You would need a birth record to confirm this.

Unfortunately, I am fairly sure my Peter Strausbaugh is not descended from the Nicholas Strausbaugh line. I say unfortunately because there seems to be no end of information about Nicholas and his descendants, but I haven't been able to make the connection. Thanks.

I have some new information, but not what I'm looking for yet. Albert & Alfred were born Oct. 12, 1870. Albert died Aug. 28, 1878 and Alfred died Sept. 3, 1878. The only clue I have to their parents are they are the sons of M & N Strausbaugh. I have been told by family members that they were relation, but I don't know how. Apparently a Strausbaugh married a Bringman and had a son William who ran a saloon in Fulton Co., OH. That's all I have.

I am trying to find info on a John Smith Strausbaugh who lived in Bluff City Ks in the late 1800's. I have some info but it needs clarified. He was born in 1855 in Richland co. Ohio to John and Sarah Strausbaugh. He died in Ava Missouri in 1920 but his father died in Bluff City in 1894. I would appreciate anything.

Strausbaugh - Fleshman - Stillinger - York Adams Lanc Indiana PA

We are searching for information on our many missing Stillinger family members from the 1700's and early 1800's in York, Lancaster, Adams and Franklin and Indiana county, PA.

In the writings of John T. Reily near Conewago, it mentions that "the Stillinger families were related to the Strausbaugh, Gross and Fleshman families of Lancaster County and Conewago".

Would like to know if any Fleshman or Strausbaugh researchers have any connections to this regard.
