Classification: Query
Surnames: Streeter, Lockling, Daugherty
Looking for more information on Levi J. Streeter born 1840 in VERMONT.
He lived in Iowa, captured and sent to Andersonville prison during the Civil War, escaped, was returned and died of dysentery. He kept a diary and wrote poems in prison, it has been lost among the family somewhere, i am in search of it.
This branch of the Streeter family settled in Harrison County, Iowa and married into the LOCKLING family who had also emigrated from the Vermont/NH area.
The Streeters and Locklings were pioneer settlers in Harrison County in the 1850's
I have been doing research on-site in Harrison (my ancestral family is all there) and have pictures of gravestones and other things if anyone is interested.
Sincerely
TR Kelley
(ggGrandaughter of Ella Melvina (Streeter)Daugherty, who was little sister to Levi J Streeter
