I noticed that you were researching the Kincaid [various spellings] family.

I wonder if you have any information about this Kincaid family:

WILLIAM J. KINCAID m: MARY STUBBLEFIELD Dec. 5 or 12, 1847 Wilson County, TN.

He also married Alice ? and Susan [Usher?]
He died before May 22,1875 Ketesville, Chariton Co., MO

Children by Mary:
(1)Martha A. Kincaid/Kingcade
b. 1848 TN?
m: Jan. 10, 1866 Palmyra Township,Douglas,KS
(to) Thomas Burgoon
died March 29, 1928 KC, KS.
(2)James Henry Kingcade b: 1850 Stockton, CA
(3)Martina Kingcade b: Abt. 1856

Children by Alice:
(3)Cicely "Emma" Jane Kingcade b: bef. 1865
(4)Jacob Franklin Kingcade b: Sept. 10, 1865 m: Jan 1, 1890 Cass Co. MO (to)Lucinda May Cordell

Children by Susan L.:
(5)Mary Kingcade b: Apr. 23, 1868
d: Aug. 25, 1872
buried Keytesville Cemetery,
Chariton Co., MO

My interest is in proving whether MARY STUBBLEFIELD [that married William J. Kincaid] could be "my" missing "POLLY" STUBBLEFIELD [sister to my GGreatgrandfather ABSOLOM STUBBLEFIELD].
(1) We think we find this family listed in the 1850 Giles Co. TN census:
In 1850 Tenn Census this listing for Wm J Kinkead (sp?)
Giles Co Tn #354

William J KINKAID 21 TN
Polly 25 Ala
Martha 2 TN
James 2/12 TN
And it is interesting that the wife's name is POLLY, born in
Alabama ["my" Polly's POB]
(2) Mary's marriage is listed among the marriages of her siblings in the same timeframe as her siblings in Wilson Co., TN.
(3) Kincaid moves her & children to CA & settles near to her mother & sibling families.
(4) Mary's death is at about the same time as we find a [new ] grandson listed in the household of Polly's mother in the 1860 census.

If this Mary is "my" POLLY she was born 1819 and would have been 27-28 when she married WJ Kincaid, who was born in 1831 so was 16-17 at his marriage to Mary. Going on that basis, Mary most likely have been married before & brought a son to this marriage. This would be Ed Chappell, old enough to leave home, & join up with his maternal grandmother's family, when [his mother?] Mary died.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome
