My ggg-grandmother was Virginia Stubblefield. According to ma family Bible, she went by "Lou". She married Dempsey Justus Head and had children Alfred Judson, John William (my gg-grandfather), Mary F, and Emma J. They lived in Pike County, Alabama.
Virginia and 'Justus' appear in the 1850 Census with their family and Virginia appears in the 1870 Census as head of household.
That is all I know about her for sure. The only other info I have are the census records which don't provide enough info to definitively connect her with anyone.
I apologize for the length of the following, but I'm hoping someone reading this will either be able to connect Virginia to one of them, or at least be able to elliminate them as possibilities.
1820 Alabama Census - John Stubblefied living alone in Dallas County. He doesn't appear in the 1820 U.S. census records. Her father?
U.S.Census records show:
1830 - John Stubblefield in Dallas County, AL
(Has a daughter that could be the right age)
1840 - George Stubblefield in Macon County, AL
John Stubblefield in Rockford, Coosa County, AL
(Both have daughters that would be the right age)
1850 - William Stubblefield in Hatchet Creek, Coosa Cty, AL.
(No daughter, Virigina, but he's the right age to be a brother.)
1866 Alabama State census - George Stubblefield. (Right age to be a possible brother to Virginia)
I'd greatly appreciate any help you can give me to find where Virginia (Lou) belongs.
