Mrs. Mildred Lenore Stuck,60,279 North Street, Marcellus, died at 12:12 p.m. Saturday, May 7,1960 at Lee Memorial Hospital,Dowagaic.She had been in poor heatlh for several years and had suffered a fall May 1st which caused a pelvic fracture and had undergone surgery the day prior to her death.
She was born April 14,1900 in Fabius Township, St Joseph County, Michigan, a daughter of Oscar David and Dora Louella (KLINE) Jewell. She attended school in the Mt Zion district and was graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1919. Following graduation, she was employed by Michigan Gas and Electric Co.,and the former Sheffield Car Co. in Three Rivers.
She was married to L.Z. Stuck on June 23,1923 in Three Rivers, where they make their home until 1926 when they moved to a farm northeast of Howardsville. Mr. Stuck preceded her in death on January 18,1948, and she later moved to Marcellus.
She was a member of the Edwards Corner Methodist Church, the Ladies Aid Society of the church and was a former Sunday School teacher there for many years. She was also a former member of the Howardsville School Board.
Surviving are her father, Oscar D. Jewell of Route 3, Marcellus, three sons, Donald J Stuck, Benton Harbor, Michigan State Trooper Olin R. Stuck, Wayland, Lyle R. Stuck, Three Rivers, One daughter, Mrs. Charles H.(Dora Ann) Fulmer of Route 3, Marcellus, One sister, Mrs Gus(Elsie)Koscher, Madison Heights,Michigan, One brother, Ned K. Jewell of Route 2, Three Rivers and seven grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother, June 14,1943, a sister, Leah, in 1921, and a grandson, Raymond Joseph Stuck, on May 5,1958
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at the Edwards Corners Methodist Church with the former pastor Rev Bruce W. Densmore of Grand Rapids officiating. Interment was made in Marcellus cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leonard Steininger, Three Rivers, Gorden Steininger, Lebanon, Ohio, Dale Rice, Three Rivers, Harold Bent, Freeland Bent and Cameron Jacobs of Marcellus
