I am looking for information on Minnie Jane Stuck who was born Aug 16, 1867, (I don't know where) and died Jan. 5, 1946, in Shelburn, Indiana, Sullivan County, and buried in Westlawn Cemetary in Farmersburg, Indiana. She married James A. Power on November 19, 1886. She had 15 children. I know their names and their birthdates. I am new at this; however, I can't seem to pinpoint her parents' names, D.O.B, or anything prior to her marriage. Do you have any information on her?

My Grandmother Loretta Hazel Stuck's family sounds a little like there may be a connection to your family, Peter is a common name in their family and i feel that they were related to the merchant of Nuremburg(?) but things are foggy around that time and records are not the best. I am fkautsky1@tampabay.rr.com please correspond and maybe we can help each other. Frank

You will need to see if these dates make sense. I found a family as follows, in the 1930 census (Franklin, Westmoreland, PA).

Milton D. Stuck age 33
Violet K. Stuck age 27
Herbert L. Stuck age 5
Milton D. Stuck age 4
Lois M. Stuck age 2 1/12

Looking for Milton D. Stuck, I found draft records in WW I & 2 showing his name as Milton Duer Stuck, born 27 May 1896, in Murrysville, PA. Milton appears to have worked as a plumber or pipe fitter over the years.

If this seems a correct match, let me know and I will see what I can dig up. I'm not sure this lines up with my Stuck family however.

Mike

I have a brick wall near where you are looking, but I thought I'd repost it in case there is a match (or even if someone recognizes this and can redirect me);

I have a David Stuck, b. probably 1835-36 possibly in W. Buffalo Twp., Union Co., PA. Wife, Margaret (Unk).

David MIGHT be a son of Michael Stuck and Susannah Smith, Michael son of Johan Matthias and Mary Margaret Herman? (b. about 1810?). But I have no proof, it's just a guess based on that they lived in the same area and I've usually found those with the same name in those towns at that time are kin.

David had a son Henry P. (could be Peter? We don't know). Wife Laura.

David is buried NEAR but not in the Troxelville Cemetery on the same road; I can't find the photo right now of his gravestone but I did find it once about 5 years ago.

From Bernard: David Stuck in the 1910 miracode index and found same aged 74 in Snyder Co., living with son-in-law Charles A. Kerr and wife Ellen, both 44, and their daughter Jennie C.,18. I later found a David Stuck in the 1840 Union Co., PA census, living in W. Buffalo Twp., PA (page 293, PAS4a2517830).

Any matches? -- Casey

I am no longer at that e-mail address. My new one is HugNArm@sbcglobal.net. I have found further information if anyone has a connection I'd love to hear from you!

Jennett's parents were George Washington and Margret whose last name is unknown. I found them in the Cranberry, Venango County, Pennsylvania US Census reports for 1850-1870 and then in 1880 they were found in Elkhart, Elkhart County, Indiana.

George and Margret also had the following children: Celesta, Emma and Melvin. There are probably more who are unknown at this time.

George Washington's parents were Frederick and Mary whose last name is unknown. They were also found in the same census for the same years in the same locations, including the move to Indiana.

Frederick also had Lewis B. who married Susannah SHROYER. I show they had the following children: George Washington, Maria and/or Mary, Catherine, Newton C., John W. and per the census an adopted daughter Kate SPADE. There could be more who are unknown at this time.

They were in Cranberry and President, Venango County, Pennsylvania and Concord, Elkhart County, Indiana.

Even if your information differs I would like to hear from you. I am missing big gaps in this line.

thank you, Lisa
William Stuck of PA.

William Stuck

William Stuck, steward of the York County Alms-house, was born in Springfield Township, York County, January 19, 1826; is a son of Charles and Rebecca (Snyder) Stuck, is the fifth in a family of fourteen children, and is of German descent. His father was born in York in 1793, and his mother in the same county in 1797. His father was a soldier in the war of 1812. His grandfather was one of the first settlers of York, and carried on distilling. Our subject received a common school education, and at fourteen years of age began life for himself. In 1842 he began learning the carpenter’s trade, and in 1850 he began for himself, and thus continued until 1872, when, on account of ill health, he was forced to abandon his occupation. In 1875 he was elected steward of the alms-house, which position he continues to hold, and under his stewardship the house and farm have been most successfully and satisfactorily managed. He was married May 30, 1849, to Miss. Sarah Gilberthorpe, a native of York, born in 1826. He is a Democrat, and has been a member of the borough council. He was made a Mason in 1861, and a member of the I. O. O. F. in 1847. He is an elder in the German Reformed Church, of which Mrs. Stuck is also a member.

Taken from the book, “History of York County, Illustrated 1886” by John Gibson, Historical Editor

I am related to Rebecca Stuck, whom I believe to be the daughter of Fredrick and Mary Stuck. The 1840 census for Fredrick lists a daughter the correct age for her.

She had married Valentine and resided next to the Stuck family in Venango County. One of their children's obituaries listed her maiden name as Stuck.

I am also tracing the Lloyd family, which lived near the other two families. At least these three families all "up and left" Venango for Elkhart in the mid 1860's.

I would be glad to share this line if you like.
I am related to Rebecca Stuck, daughter of Fredrick and Mary Stuck. Rebecca is my 3g-grandmother. Rebecca has a brother named Lewis born in 1819. Lewis had a son George born in PA about 1852, who moved to Elkhart, but I don't have another Lewis.

Three families moved from Venango County to Elkhart arround the mid 1860's. I am tracing the Lloyds, Ulrichs and Stucks, as they all seem to be close. I would be happy to share any information I can if this looks like the same line.

She is my Gr Grandmother. I have a paper she prepared showing what she knew of her family tree. I have been interested in getting information on her father. George Martin Brown, who served in civil war out of Ohio. She was born in Ohio, in 1860 & her next younger brother, Loren, in Iowa in 1863. My dad always told be that George was an artillery officer, wounded in the war. So I'm assuming he moved family after he came home from war. Dad said George carried minie ball in his leg til he died.

My husband is descended from Naomi Mary Stuck, daughter of Grant Zachariah Stuck, son of Isaac R Stuck, son of David Stuck (b Feb 14, 1836, d Jan 18, 1911) ,married to Margaret Unknown (b July 1, 1802, d Jan 7, 1842). I have dates and names of 8 children, some middle names and a child or two. I'd be happy to share what I have. Don't think there's enough room on this site to share the details. Chuck Stuck has done a great deal of writing and research on this line as well. Please email me and I'll share what I have.
