I have info on some STUMP lines in Maryland, c. 1700 - 1920's if anyone is interested. John STUMP came to US c.1700 from England - family was from Prussia originally, but had lived in Eng. for generations. Came to PA, married Mary Catherine BAKERIN in Phila., 1726. Moved to northeast MD btwn. 1726 and 1730 - settled there in Cecil County. Lines extend into Harford and Baltimore Counties. Know there is a Frederick Co. line but not sure how it fits in yet w/ the Cecil/Harford/Balto. Also, some of these "Maryland" STUMPS ended up in Virginia and Texas. Prenominant names are John, Henry, Samuel, Alexander, Herman, William, Rachel, Hannah. Maryland family farms/estates (in case you may see a reference to these in any documents you may have)include "Stump's Fancy", "Perry Point" (now is the Perry Point Veteran's Hospital in Cecil Co.), "Stafford", Perkins Ferry", "Oakington", and "Peachbottom". Write if you think there is a connection or want to share info!
